Wayne Hanson papers, 1892-1965.

Material documenting Hanson's career with the YMCA, as well as his work as a professional speaker on international issues. Diaries cover his early life in Indiana and his career and travel with the YMCA. Of particular interest are journals from his time in Europe working with teh Foyers du Soldat during World War I. Other highlights include correspondence documenting his work and travels in France and Latin America and speeches on international issues.

Agassiz Wayne Hanson, born in 1877 in Green Hill, Indiana, was a prominent leader in the YMCA movement in Indiana, at the national, and at the international levels. After serving as president of the University of Indiana student YMCA and assistant state secretary for Indiana, he went on to work with the YMCA's Overseas Division in France during World War I.
